Casa de Cello has been a family run winery for a little over four generations. Located in the Dao region of northern Portugal, they champion and specialise in all of the incredible indigenous grape varieties Portugal boasts, and grows them all organically and sustainably too. The grapes for Vinho Verde Branco Quinta de Sanjoanne come from vineyards grown on granitic soils, in the sub-region of Amarante. The wine is a blend of hand hand-harvested Loureiro and Avesso, fermented in stainless steel. Pale green in the glass, this elegant Vinho Verde shows fresh floral aromas, citrus fruits and a gorgeous minerality which come from the vineyards proximity to the ocean. The palate is smooth, fresh and elegant with flavours of lemon zest, lime and a touch of salinity. A very food-friendly wine, it's an awesome pair with fresh mackerel or sardines.
